About Simon

Simon Hintermann is an illustrator from Switzerland who feels homesick for a world that never existed — which is why he feels the need to draw it.

Having read almost the entire fantasy section of his city library in his younger years, losing himself in fantasy books and games as well as being deeply influenced by Ghibli movies, Lord of the Rings, Earthsea and anything Fantasy, Simon grew up with one foot in fantastical worlds. This love for the imaginary worlds never left as an adult and eventually led him to create Argenta — an island realm he illustrates (almost) daily.
